New data has uncovered the best farmers' markets in the UK, with Hampshire, Cornwall, Scotland and South East London coming out on top.

With searches for #farmersmarket and #farmersmarketuk booming on TikTok, HelloFresh analysed 30 farmers' markets across the UK, scoring them according to the following factors: frequency (monthly), length (in hours), number of trades and producers, and ratings given by visitors.

Winchester's market was crowned the overall winner, followed by Taunton Farmers Market in Somerset and Edinburgh Farmers Market in Scotland. Praised for their fresh and seasonal produce, these markets offer everyone the chance to eat farm to fork.

"Spring is the perfect time to enjoy the UK's freshest produce, with farmers and horticulturists gathering in their local area to sell their finest stock," explain the team at HelloFresh.

"Not only can you find the best produce at farmers markets, but you can also make a day of it by trying delicious foods and even visiting the local village or town, which is why they're becoming more popular."

This attractive utility room solution is a bit of a secret money-saver. Instead of replacing worn out or outdated cabinets, hang some heavy-weight canvas curtains to add a bit of texture to your room.

There is a really welcome move towards using colour in utility rooms, beyond the classic greys and off-whites. Utility rooms are often without windows, so a warm colour can do wonders to brighten the space, and they are often quite small so you can afford to be bright and bold without it looking overpowering.

Most of the utility rooms on this list err on the side of soft neutrals, with the odd racer green. We love this practical black version, which will better withstand inevitable scuffs and scrapes.

The utility room is one of the most high-traffic areas in your home, requiring extra thought for choice of flooring. Whilst natural stone flooring is a traditional choice, an easy-to-clean engineered wood or high-quality vinyl tile are both versatile and affordable options to withstand muddy shoes and heavy footfall.

If you are in the stages of designing a new utility room, consider a picture window to make the space more than just a practical addition to your home. This is of course especially impactful if you have a beautiful view of a garden to make dreary cleaning tasks more enjoyable.

One for the design conscious. Decant your cleaning materials into attractive glass jars and collect your utensils into apple crates – as for the utensils themselves, vintage or wooden versions can double as decor.

We are really quite taken with this wallpapered utility room (spot the wallpapered ceiling too,) that mixes the functional with the frivolous. This is again a feasible approach to decorating a small utility room because the big statements will be less overpowering.

The decorative side of a utility room is often overlooked in favour of more practical elements. And whilst the latter is most certainly a priority, some soft touches like flowers won't go amiss – it's all about making the room a nicer place to be whilst doing dreary tasks.

This busy utility room utilises every inch of space. The L-shaped bench is great for storing muddy wellies, and offers a spot to sit to pop them on. The textiles are a nice touch too, so often overlooked in a utility room.

The utility room will naturally be full of cleaning products, some unsightly bottles and perhaps extras like dog food and leads. Utilise some well-designed small storage solutions like this galvanised bucket to stop your bits and pieces drifting across your counters.

One of our favourite trends of recent years. Frothy curtains installed under a farmhouse sink feel retro and a bit chintzy and can break up an imposing run of cabinets. We love the baskets hanging from the ceiling too for a farmhouse finish.

Quite a few of the utility rooms on this list have a spot for chopped logs. And whilst many homes won't actually have use for them, they make for a great decorative touch.

"Having a made-to-measure piece will help to maximise every inch of the room. Often dog beds can look unsightly or can often get in the way. To avoid this, design the perfect snooze spot for your pooch with an integrated dog bed."
