Firefighters with Bettendorf Fire Rescue responded to a residential structure fire in the 1100 block of Kimberly Road on Sunday, March 17 at 2:42 a.m. When first responders entered the building, they found heavy smoke and some flames. They quickly extinguished the fire and conducted interior searches throughout the homes while other companies searched nearby homes. No fires were found and firefighters cleared light smoke from those homes. One person was home at the time of the fire, but self-evacuated by the time fire crews arrived.
The home is uninhabitable due to fire and smoke damage and utilities have been shut off. The investigation is ongoing and no injuries were reported.
